English is not my mother tongue.
But i pretty much started learning this language of capitalism since time
immortal, or so i feel. Trust me it was not easy, with all the twists and
turns, with all the rolling “r”s and silent “t”s life was miserable. But the
thing that i could never understand, was why the word (or letter?) “i” got
autocorrected to “I” every time i wrote it. For always we were told a capital
letter appears at the beginning of a sentence or when we are using a proper
noun. But “i” is always “I” where ever it is and as far as my poor knowledge of
the language goes, “i” is not a proper noun as well. So let me think, hmmmm, i
am still wondering why is it so? Any guess my linguistic friends? Or the research
savvy minds? Sorry am too lazy to go to the library and look for an answer, so
i will do exactly what I do the best. Will sit in by desk and will come up with
a theory. The “i” became “I” because the world revolves around me. Did you not
know that? Poor guy Galileo died of stupid reason saying the world revolves
around sun. Or maybe that is the truth in the books but in our darn modern
minds it is always “I”.
Let us speculate more, this “I”
could be individualistic. As example that girl or the hot hunk is wearing a
tight short just so that “I” can get sexually aroused and go and rape her/him.
On the other hand the collective “I” is nobler, or so i was told. As an
example, the existence of your country and ideas is harmful to the existence to
my country (or “I”) so I will go and bomb you. So as a matter of fact since the
day we teach our toddlers to write “i” as “I” what we train them is to be
self-centered, egoistic, self-obsessed, narcissistic and pathetic morons. And
when they do get a little more imaginative and take up a gun or go and rape few
times we get so angry, how just a reaction! So my opinion (always remember i
also learned to think myself as I and so to me this is the best opinion, if you
do not agree then buzz off) is my dear parents tell your kids that you are
nothing special than the rest of the kids that are arriving in this world every
day and the old people who are departing, that your ego is as big as the one
you are facing, that compassion is the key to success and for god’s sake DO NOT
WRITE I.
